As is well reported, success for Dexter Sports Walking Football Club has been in short supply this season! With that in mind, we’re pleased to reveal that the Dexter Sports FPL Mini League has been won by one of our own.
For those not in the know, FPL is Fantasy Premier League. It’s been around for a while now. You might know it by another name – perhaps Fantasy Football? FPL is the official Premier League version. It’s played by million of managers across the world every year. This season there were 10.9 million.

The Dexter Sports Mini League had 53 entrants this season and was one by….. Simon Allen. Yep, that’s me! A bit embarrassing to congratulate myself, but there you go, I probably deserve it!
This has been my eighth season playing FPL. My best finish was in the COVID affected 2019/20 season when I finished in the top 4k. This season I finished in position 118k – my third best finish after placing 25k last year.
A special mention should also be given to Ed Perkins, who finished just outside the ten, by just seven points.
| Manager | Points | |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Simon Allen | 2,477 |
| 2 | Adam Scholey | 2,329 |
| 3 | James Hughes | 2,326 |
| 4 | Ryan Stiggants | 2,311 |
| 5 | Liam Taylor | 2,307 |

I came 2nd in a league of two, with 2228 points, but won the knockout cup, 63-60.
The knockout cup also had two entrants. 🙂
Building up to challenging in the Dexters league next season. 😉
Well done Simon. Remarkable consistency all season. The gap between you and the chasing pack was cavernous (almost as great as the gap between Arsenal and Chelsea this season.)
