Dexter Sports Walking Football Club showed incredible resilience to overturn a two-goal deficit and secure a thrilling victory via a penalty shootout against Amesbury in the Third Round of the 50s WFA National Cup.

DSWFC vs Amesbury: Match Report
The match got off to a tough start for Dexter’s, with Amesbury taking an early lead through Russell before quickly doubling their advantage to make it 0-2. Dexter had a scare when Stewy missed a golden opportunity to extend Amesbury’s lead further, leaving it 0-2 at the halftime whistle with work to do.
The second half, however, belonged to the fightback. Dexter’s found a lifeline early on when Luke capitalised on a goalkeeper mistake to slot home and make it 1-2. The tension began to rise, culminating in Russell receiving a blue card for a reckless challenge after a couple of warnings. Moments after returning to the pitch, Russell forced a superb save from Billy off a dangerous free kick.
As the half progressed, DSWFC found themselves limited largely to long-range efforts, but the pressure finally paid off. Encroachment into the area by one of the Amesbury players trying to cut out a cross field pass resulted in a penalty, which Gary Craig coolly converted to level the scores at 2-2. Amesbury had a massive chance to win it late on, but Stewy missed a one-on-one opportunity, and Dexter Sports almost snatched it at the death when Chris Short struck the woodwork.
With nothing separating the sides at the final whistle, the match went straight to a penalty shootout.
