On the pitch it’s been a tricky start to the 2023/24 league season for DSWFC, but there are things in place to make the future look rosey.
The start of the season has been particularly disappointing for both the Over 50s and Over 60s teams. Just three points from the opening 12 matches between the two teams certainly isn’t what was hoped for. However, after a restructure of the club during the Summer, including the management teams of both squads, maybe a bedding-in period should have been expected while new tactics and ideas are implemented.
As part of the personnel changes, new styles and ideas are being implemented, including…
- Aligning tactics across both squads
- A variety of practice matches to improve walking football specific skills
- Time allocated to tactics which feed into league tournaments
- Specific training routines to address identified areas of improvement
The future for both clubs looks rosey with players and management teams joined-up in their desire to see the club succeed in all competitions.
