At the commencement of the 2023/24 season, Dexter Sports WFC entered one team into the Dorset Walking Football League 50s Division and one team into the 60s Division. Things will be very different come the start of the new season in October.
Not only have we entered the 65s Division, but with the greatest of excitement, we can also announce Dexters will enter two teams to the 50s Division for the 2024/25 season. This has been made possible by some fantastic recruitment, driven by the efforts of a number of members, all of whom deserve a big pat on the back.
After successful negotiations regarding a rule change with the Dorset Walking Football League along with a nod of approval from the FA, the 50s Division will now see Dexters Storm and Dexters Thunder compete in a 9-team league against Amesbury, Bournemouth, Dorchester, Eastleigh, Sherborne, Verwood, Weymouth… and each other.
This represents a huge step in the development of DSWFC as it effectively doubles the number of 50s players to whom the opportunity to play competitive league football can be offered.
